PERFORMANCE KINETICS

TRIATHLON / OPEN WATER SWIMMING

This course is designed for current or aspiring Triathletes and the focus is competitive front crawl for open water use.

We will assess your swimming level and proceed with rigorous correction of stroke technique. The nature of Triathlon as a sport means that enormous competitive advantage is gained by increasing speed and conserving energy during the swim. This is the main objective of the course.

Our Goals are:

• Correct arm mechanics: the result of arm movement correction is a more powerful stroke and prevention of shoulder injury.

• Conservation of momentum: balancing the stroke to produce constant propulsion is essential for open water swimming in crowded conditions.

• Breathing: correction of breathing increases comfort and performance in distance swimming.

• Posture Line and Balance (advanced): Understanding how to balance and position the body in the water will greatly improve your velocity and conserve energy.

On finishing the courses, participants are able to:

• Swim distances at pace.
• Understand their personal swimming stroke; its strengths and areas needing improvement.
• Continue their training and personal development by using the drills and skills covered in the course.

Course Requirements:

• Participants should be able to swim a minimum of 25m front crawl
• Participants are encouraged to train individually in addition to the lessons.

Fees:

• The price for our Triathlon Specific Swimming course is £250
