PERFORMANCE KINETICS

EARLY VERTICAL FOREARM: FREESTYLE/CRAWL

Correct arm mechanics rely on efficient use of the appropriate muscle groups, precise positioning of the arm and hand and correct range of motion.

The focus of this course will be to develop an early vertical forearm during front crawl, leading to superior power development and prevent muscle / joint damage.

Our Goals are:

• Elimination of the dreaded Dropped Elbow Syndrome that haunts 99% of all swimmers.

• Learn how to catch and hold the water more effectively.

• To utilise the major muscle groups and core strength when swimming.

• Eliminate rotator-cuff problems encountered through incorrect stroke technique.

On finishing the course, participants are able to:

• Link to their swimming machine’s engine; that is your legs and core lower torso muscles. Which, when used properly, will initiate the rotations of your core-body (your spine and the muscles attached to it) along the length of your torso.

• Keep their elbows “high” and have a far greater accelerating hand speed without “slipping water”, this in turn will allow a continuous acceleration of the swimmers body through the water.

• Use the hand and forearm as a unit to catch an increased water volume. This will deliver the highest percentage of transmitted forces to the water as propulsion.

Course Requirements:

• Participants should able to swim 50m front crawl at pace.

Fees:

• The price for our EVF workshop is £100
